VSMPO-Avisma titanium sales rise 14% to 28,779 tonnes in 2017

MOSCOW, May 23 (PRIME) -- The combined sales of titanium rolled products and bars by Russia’s titanium giant VSMPO-Avisma rose 14% on the year to 28,779 tonnes in 2017, the company said in a statement on Wednesday.

Exports grew 26% to 20,588 tonnes, while domestic sales fell 8% to 8,192 tonnes.

The U.S. and Europe accounted for most exports with 44% and 47% shares, respectively.

The company attributed the rise in sales to growing demand from the aviation industry, as well as foreign customers’ policy to mitigate political risks with larger reserves.
